About Me

Research

I focus on theory-driven empirical research in accounting, examining how regulatory policies, organizational characteristics, and firm behavior inform regulatory and capital market outcomes.

Personal

I grew up in Brookings, South Dakota, and earned my Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Outside of research, I mostly oscillate between low-effort spectating and high-effort tinkering. On the spectating side, I'm a loyal (and most often heartbroken) Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. I also follow eSports religiously, especially Korean League of Legends.

On the tinkering side, I enjoy building custom desktops and custom mechanical keyboards, and driving my manual Mazda Miata NC. When I'm not spectating or tinkering, I'm usually reading fantasy fiction, watching sci-fi thrillers, playing social deduction games with friends, or listening to mostly metal and hard rock (Linkin Park and Seether), with the occasional curveball from Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey.
